Joints hold carbon dioxide oxygen and nitrogen along with fluid, which greases the part where 2 bones join.  While you pour fluid under stress, the tiny bubbles of gas in joint portions, are discharged, and it leads to a popping sound.

The sound seems to be comparable to a soda can opening sound.  The force in the container is discharged while you unlock it. Gas fizzes go up forcefully with a crack. While the bubbles are freed, the liquid in the joints greases the surfaces, and the movement is restored to give you a good feeling.

Better feeling after neck cracking – But still not good for you

Whenever you control your joints, you actually cause the ligaments to get stretched as rubber strip. While you draw out any rubber string several times, it may lose the form and may turn out to be unstable may also snap. The same thing can be said in case of ligaments.

If you continuously extend them by breaking your back or own neck, they may not have the right stability and structure, needed for your joints for maintaining appropriate alignment. It can cause some difficulties, such as, strained nerves, crooked vertebra, soreness and stiffness.

In addition to it, while you crack the neck, the joints that cracked are sustained with ligaments, which are stretched previously. Thus, you are, in fact, not solving the issue; you may be able only to release gas and stretch ligaments.
